Kayala frowned and stepped out from behind Edward to glare at Beckett,"What do you want?"

Jack looked silently at Elizabeth, and then stumbled over to her,"That's pleasant." He offered a bottle of rum to her,"Rum love?"

Alex returned with two bottles of rum. She saw Jack offering Elizabeth a bottle as well. She shrugged. "More for me then," she muttered.

Edward glared at the man in front of him, nearly burning a hole in his head. If he thought meeting James in this horrid place was bad, then the situation had taken a turn for the absolute worst. He tried to pull Kayala back - there was no telling what this man was capable of, even in the land of the dead. “So it seems not even the Good Lord Beckett could repent his sins after death, eh? Imagine that,” Edward commented, coldly.
----------
Vari turned to face the two newcomers, her eyes settling on Joe, the one no one could tell a secret to. Carmon was much easier to trust. “Bloody wonderful…” She motioned for the boy to follow. “‘Ere, lad, have a sit-down.” The trembling boy dropped into the hammock. “What’re we gonna do with this one? Can’t tell the Captains… Poor thing don’t even speak English.”
The boy watched with interest, eating the green apple hungrily. “Yes I do.”
-----------
Richard was out like a light when Cole got up, lost somewhere in a dream about times that had long gone. Through the thick mist ghosting the ocean, a ship tread the still waters, on the side was painted the ‘Phoenix’ in crisp golden letters. The crew rushed about, but Rich stood still near the mizzenmast, caught in a daydream. There she was, beautiful as ever, standing before him at the helm, but as he reached out, she began to fade; his eyes became cloudy and the last thing he saw was that bilge rat, Blackhaven before he was pulled down to the deepest reaches of the ocean, the weight of the water crushing his body…
Richard awoke with a start, sitting up straight on the makeshift cot. His breathing was fast and his pulse quickened; thankfully it was only a dream… a nightmare. Looking around the dark shack, he noticed that Cole was no longer in his bed, but this didn’t seem to worry Rich much. Instead, he laid back down and covered his trembling body with a weatherworn blanket and closed his eyes once more.

Joanna looked back at Lotty with concern growing in her eyes. “She’s gone absolutely mad,” Joanna replied, hoping that Keyara’s rowboat would come back towards the shore with the woman in it, alive and unharmed. An internal battle was going on behind her sea-blue eyes. If they went after her now, they’d be risking their own lives, but if they left her out there… “We need to do something… we can’t just wait…” Joanna felt the urge to push her own rowboat out and go after her. The more rational part told her to stay put as the first bolts of lightning split the sky and thunder rumbled in the distance. A strong gust of wind made the palm trees shiver, and Joanna’s blonde hair was sent whipping around her face. She’ll never make it…
-----------
For miles, the ocean stretched out with no land in sight. Isla Tratante was no longer visible, and neither were the forms of Joanna and Lotty or any of its inhabitants. How could they possibly understand what she had gone through all of these years? Her life had fallen to pieces a long time ago, and there was no way to put them back together again. Shattered, broken… The waves became more rough and unforgiving as Keyara clung desperately to the sides of the rowboat. Maybe this was not one of your better ideas… She grasped her locket tightly as a large wave began rising. Keyara closed her eyes as the wave engulfed her and everything went dark.
A lantern lit the way as Keyara’s small, white rowboat floated through calm sea. Keyara sat up and opened her eyes. What had happened, and where was she? Among her were other rowboats carrying deathly pale people in them. They all sat unmoving, watching the horizon ahead. Keyara glanced around, spotting the very ship that had aided in the destruction of the Endeavour so many years ago. The Flying Dutchman. She turned her boat so that it was now floating alongside the ship and called up to the ship’s captain.

Kayala pulled herself out of Edward's grip and continued to glare angrily at Beckett. She repeated her phrase, louder this time,"What do you want? Are you deaf?!?!?"

James glared at Beckett as well and for once in his life he had to admit that what the pirate, Edward, said expressed his feelings too. Lord Beckett had hurt him and his friends, the Swanns. He had used both of them and when he was done with them he had easily disposed of both. However, one thought lit up in his mind. Perhaps Beckett would know what happened to Elizabeth after, well, after that night. He was about to say something when Beckett responded to Edward.
“However,” Cutler coolly said, ignoring Kayala, “my sins are undoubtedly far less than,” he paused and glared at both Norrington and Edward, “yours. Both betrayers serving the same fate.” he gave them both a smug smile, meanwhile wondering himself how Jack ever did get out of the Locker. ‘Also,’ he thought to himself, ‘they did do more to deserve this than you did.’ he paused. Keyara entered his mind yet again. He struggled to push her out.

Joe jumped a little at hearing the boy. “Doesn’t speak English, huh?” he raised and eyebrow and laughed at Vari. “where’d you come from?” he crouched down and looked the boy in the face. He looked back at Vari and Carmon before he could get an answer, “why shouldn’t we tell the Captains about our little stowaway friend?”
Carmon gave Vari a knowing look as Joe got down by the young boy. She wrung her hands and thought for a minute while studying the boy. “Did he say his name?” she whispered to Vari.
_______________
Cole sat on the beach, looking out towards the ocean-like water. He pulled his knees up and rested his chin on them. He wrapped his long arms around his legs and sighed. A soft breeze blew his dark brown locks away from his forehead. His thoughts traveled again and again back to Lotty and Carmon.
_______________
“why?” Lotty turned back to Joanna in-between talking to her first mate. “If she wants to go kill herself than why don’t you let her? She’s a no good red coat anyway.” she turned back to her first mate and finished her directions. When he had left she turned her attention fully back to Joanna, “It’s best to let her go.” she watched as Keyara grew further and further away. She sighed, her thoughts taking her far, far back in time. Suddenly she felt a slight pang of guilt and sorrow for what Keyara had had to face in her life.
_______________
Will was giving orders to one of his men to pull up a small girl in her boat. His heart was saddened at the sight of so many people but more than that at the thought of all the heartbreak these peoples’ deaths had caused. His head shot towards the edge of the ship when he heard a woman calling his name. For a second a sick feeling flooded his stomach. It couldn’t be Elizabeth, could it? He ran to the edge and looked over. He thought he recognized the woman but thankfully it wasn’t Elizabeth.

“Funny you should be the one speaking of betrayal,” Edward said, taking a few steps closer to this vile man. “As I’m sure there are but a few souls who’ve been cheated out of what they most desired by you, Lord Beckett.” There was a brief look of defiance in Ed’s eyes; this was probably the only time he could stand up to someone such as Cutler without receiving the gallows as a punishment. His eyes never left Beckett’s face, and his expression remained stoic. There was no doubt many reasons why someone held so high in society had earned this fate.
-----------
Vari sent a glare in Joe’s direction; the man was getting on her nerves today, somewhat more than usual. “He’s not said anythin’ of importance to me… and if he had any intelligence whatsoever, he’d not answer the likes of you. We’re keeping this our little secret, and if you utter one word, I’ll - ” She stopped to think of all of the horrid things they could do with Joe’s body, and right now Vari’s choice was hanging it from the main mast and letting the seagulls have a mid-afternoon snack. “My name is Jérôme Desmarais,” the boy replied with a heavy French accent, while glancing at the three adults watching him interestedly.
-----------
[[I’m kinda at a loss for what to do with Rich and Cole… we could skip to morning, but that would have to be consistent with the Becky/Norrie/Ed/Kayala scene… For now I’ll wait to post, ’kay?]]
-----------
Joanna shook her head in disagreement with Charlotte. “I know how it is you feel, and I know it’s hard to understand, but Keyara is a close friend of mine. How would ye feel if it were someone you cared for?” She stared at Lotty hard, knowing that deep down inside, the other woman had to care just a little. “But you’re right about one thing - this weather is terribly awful. Why don’t ye stay here for tonight, and your crew. We’re always happy to have newcomers stay with us.”
-----------
Keyara called up again, seeing Will’s head come over the side of the ship. “Mister Turner,” she spoke calmly. “Fancy seeing you here… tell me, what is this place?” She stared up at him expectantly.

Kayala listened in on the converstion, keeping her stubborn glare on Beckett, even as he ignored her. Angry, she looked down, lost in her own thoughts about her dead family.

(Sorry for the long wait, guys! I promise to be better now that I actually have free time! )
"Ah, yes, thank you," groaned Elizabeth, grabbing the bottle from Jack's hand and taking a large swig. The burning sensation of the rum quickly eliminated the taste of vomit from her mouth - and also most of her taste buds, she was sure. Turning, she saw Alex coming back up onto the deck with two bottles of rum in her hands. "Oh, I'm sorry, Alex, I didn't mean to be rude," she apologized quickly. "I'm really not sure what's wrong with me."

Lord Cutler Beckett, er, rather just Cutler Beckett as he figured he had now become, stiffened as Edward took a few steps closer to him. “Of course. But I find it slightly ironic to hear a pirate speaking this way,” Cutler said coolly, “aren’t cheating and betrayal part of the pirate’s code?” He casually glanced over at Norrington, immediately recognizing the man as is former acquaintance. “Mr. Norrington,” he said simply while giving the former admiral just a slight bow of his head. He made a point to leave out any “Admiral”. Cutler remained stiff, watching and waiting. Daring these people to say something derogatory towards him.
James went rigid. The “Mr.” part in Beckett’s address towards him had not skipped his notice. But he supposed it was only true. He wasn’t anything more in this strange, after-life than… Mr. Beckett was. Several years ago when he thought Beckett was only a good, peace-loving Lord of the EITC James would’ve been horrified at the thoughts which were now passing through his mind about Beckett. As it stood now, he had a deeper understanding of Cutler Beckett and his “peace-loving” qualities. During this tense silence and thought, all questions about Elizabeth once again skipped his mind.

Joe rolled his eyes at Vari’s threats. To him all these threats were just empty. He knew Vari wouldn’t harm him, she liked him too much. Everyone liked him, right? “Oh, of course he wouldn’t say nothing of intelligence to ye. Why would he trust ya? Now, me… you’d trust me, right?” he asked turning to the boy, putting all his charm on. “Jérôme?” Joe paused and thought over the name and where to go next. He grinned back at Vari and Carmon. “Well, then, why’re ya here, lad? Are you hungry?”
Carmon wondered what Joe was up to. Did he think this was just a competition between himself and Vari? In her own, gentle way, Carmon approached Jérôme and Joe, staying as far away from the latter as was possible. “Jérôme,” she said to him, it almost came out as a whisper. Joe just glared at her, but thankfully kept his silence.

Charlotte admitted it to herself, she did care just a little. She nodded and looked over at Joanna almost sheepishly. “You’re right. I know. If I ever lost my husband, Cole, I don’t know hwat I would do or how I could cope,” she sighed and once more thought about Cole. She couldn’t wait to see him again and run over all her thoughts with him. She brightened, “aye, we can’t go out on the ocean in this storm at any rate.” she looked back out at the rough waters. “Thanks.”

A sad look momentarily passed over Will’s face as the memory of where they were came to him yet again. Also the thought of not seeing Elizabeth for ten long years came to him. He wondered how she was doing. But soon those thoughts were replaced by puzzlement. “This is the Locker, Ms….” he trailed off, waiting for her to fill in the name. Meanwhile he motioned for his men to help her onto the ship with the rest of the Passers On.

Jack gently pried the bottle out of Elizabeth's hands and took another sip from it, "Hasn't there always been something wrong with you Elizabeth?" He looked at her flirtatously and then turned away. Jack then flipped up his compass, which turned again, much to his dismay to Alex. Stupid thing... he thought angrily, and shook it, Why Alex? Why her? I DON'T Want her!!

Edward continued to glare at this man standing in front of him. Not only was he dead, but now that Cutler Beckett had made an appearance… well, it was something like adding insult to injury. He was already an emotional wreck and he didn’t need this to top it all off. Rain began to fall from the overcast clouds - probably the first storm there had been in years - and thunder off somewhere in the distance. With a disgruntled sigh he walked back towards the shack to see what food was left. Edward knew that fighting with the man was pointless and would get them nowhere, but deep down, he knew Cutler was right. Piracy was about betrayal, and he had betrayed as well. Not only his family, but himself. You’re no pirate, Ed another part of him admitted. He had been reluctant to kill, to take things what weren’t his. The only thing that had kept him tied to piracy was Vari. “There has to be a way back… Jack did it once, why can’t it be done again?” He whispered to himself.
-----------
Vari gritted her teeth; her headache was growing, and now Joe was getting on her last nerve. Finally she snapped, slamming the man against the wall and putting her sword to his throat. “Keep it up,” she warned, holding his face in the other hand and squeezing it tight until his lips resembled those of a fish. “Just keep messin’ with me and ye’ll learn quick enough that I don’t suffer fools. I’ll skew you like a roasted pig, you little - !” She cursed him out regardless of the young boy sitting a few feet away.
Jérôme’s eyes widened as he looked to Carmon. It wasn’t the cursing that had frightened him, oh no - it was the fact that a woman had acted in such a way towards a man, showing no respect for him in the least. He had never seen such a thing in the whole of his fourteen years. Quickly he decided that the blonde woman in front of him would be the only one he trusted.
-----------
The thunder put Richard at unrest. He found himself staring up at the roof of the shack, raindrops falling on his head. That darn leak he forgot to fix… With a sigh, he stood up and walked outside to see Cole sitting on the beach in the rain. The stars were veiled and night was almost through. Morning would be coming soon and it had been yet another sleepless night for him. “Somethin’ wrong, lad?” Richard questioned, taking a seat next to the boy.
-----------
[[This will be a good way to bring in my character, Deanne… So many OC’s, it’s crazy! ]]
Joanna smiled like a joyful little child and nodded slightly. “You can stay in my tent with me tonight. It will at least be a change from wooden walls and seawater. Come, let’s get you out of those clothes and into something more comfortable.” She led Charlotte to one of the white tents and pulled back the flap. A red-haired girl was inside, sitting on an old rickety chair and reading a book. She quickly looked up and smiled, walking over as Joanna introduced the two.
“Deanne, this is Charlotte Percy. Charlotte, this is Deanne Decora, my good friend.” She smiled and motioned to the Irish girl. “Charlotte will be staying with us for a while - do you have any dresses she could borrow?”
“Of course,” Deanne nodded. She knelt down in front of the trunk at the foot end of her bed and rummaged through its contents. In no time she pulled out a plain white dress much like both she and Joanna were wearing. “We wear white here to symbolize purity and innocence.”
-----------
As Keyara was brought aboard, she wrung out her wet hair and glanced at him cautiously. “Do not tell me you’ve forgotten who I am, Mr. Turner,” she smirked. “I haven’t forgotten you.” The Locker? Davy Jones’ Locker? You have to be dead to go there… oh no. This must have been the place sailors went when they died, but for what reason was she here? She never did anything wrong… or did she?
