i'm a little sad for my unenlightened mother, though...she insists that kimya dawson is not "real" music.
silly, silly opinion.

Ohh so they are accusing Juno for making teenagers want to become pregnant.... ehh..
I didn't see the movie but I just read about those 17 teenage girls in Glouchester, Massachussets how have become pregnant because they want to raise the kids together.... I was just wondering who might the fathers be and what are they saying to all this..

Ugh... how irritating. Juno's life certainly isn't all sunshine and lollipops after she finds out she's pregnant. She doesn't even keep the baby because she knows it's going to hinder her from continuing her education and making a real future for herself. Those girls are really making a mistake, and I wish someone would knock some sense into them.

Well, that's what I thought at first, but then they explained that the girls all lived in a small town where fishing seemed to be the thing.. and what a great prospect is that... so motherhood was actually viewed as some kind of status among the girls.. which is kinda sad if they want to become mothers only because they can't see any future anywhere else...
Also, I'm really tired of the media jumping to conclusions in their search for quick explanations to everything. Like immediately accusing Tokio Hotel for causing the suicide of some teenagers, because they apparently had been a emo-fans. That's all I know of the case since I'm neither TH nor particularly emo-ish... it's just tiresome that the media act this way...

It really is. They always seem to blow things way out of proportion. It's still sad that those girls have to resort to getting pregnant to get somewhere in life. Just imagine what sort of scandal there would be if teenage girls did that here or even in the US? The media would have a field day...

In fact the girls were from the U.S. - which is probably also why they got so much media coverage.
I don't think motherhood should be underestimated in general nor should our notions and prejudice decide those girls future and happiness, when we don't know more about the circumstances. Nevertheless, man, it's sad if becoming pregnant so young is the only thing they feel they can do to change their lives...

OMG I heard about this on the news... that's ridiculous. And bizarre. They were interviewing somebody with the school district/system there and they said something to the extent of "the sex-ed program was lacking/needed to be re-vamped".
I'll say.

Aaaaaand I finally saw it today! I liked it... it was cute. And the soundtrack was a win! Great music and so feel-good!
However, I don't see why all those teenage girls would become pregnant because of the movie... that's like a far-fetched connection made my the media....
