Hard choice that must've been. :) Riverdance is amazing, but ballet is well, even more-so. :P Ah, the Nutcracker, my favourite as well, though The Firebird is a close second.

Riverdance is pretty much one of the most awesome, breathtaking types of dance out there. But then again, I am a sucker for anything that includes twiddly Irish-sounding music. :teehee:

Ballet is breathtaking in a completely different type of way. It's more fluid and I suppose if you could say any type of dancing was like poetry, it would be ballet, just the way it flows I guess. The Nutcracker and Swan Lake are really the only two ballet's I know. I rely pretty much on what is shown on the BBC at Christmas for my cultural intake. :P

Oh no, I wasn't trying to degrade your entry at all DamsonRhee. Don't get me wrong, Riverdance is amazing. JF is right, Riverdance and ballet are two different things and I think they're a bit hard to compare.

Lol. Don't we all rely on the BBC at Christmas time to provide all the classical ballets? Even I watch them! :P

I had a wonderful version of the Nutcracker which I taped about 5 years ago. I really enjoyed watching it, and when I went to watch it a while later.... mum had recorded over the first 30 minutes with Coronation Street. :annoyed2: *shakes fist*

I know  I guess I just miss it enough. I never really got into ballet, but I think you're right JF. I can see where ballet would be poetry. Step dancing's a little more like that awesome adventure story. Particularly hard shoe.

Ooooh, Ballet? While I was in Kiev (Ukraine) I got to see Swan Lake. Most gorgeous, amazing, wonderful experience of my life. Ever since I've been a ballet junkie.

Laurel, I know there is only ten spots... but I noticed no one has represented swing dancing yet (my verrrry favorite!) and I was wondering if I might... could? Please?

EDIT: if you will allow me to enter, here is my entry. :)

Yes, FM, of course you may join! And don't worry about being late, Caunion. It's still technically the 26th in some parts of the world, so you're covered. :P I'll probably close up later in the morning. It's about time I went to bed.

Only slightly...we are talking about dance and how it relates to our banners ;)
Yeah. I took lessons for 5 years, then graduated. :disgust: haven't been able to go to class.

Love everyone's entries. Will, Dirty Dancing, you rock! :-D

What a shame. :( I've always been enthralled by people who can step dance. It's amazing!
