Eva ran at top speed, hoping that Anakin had understood that splitting up would divide them, making it easier to take them on. She heard blasters going off behind her, and turned to see the speeder behind her firing at her. She jumped out of the way of one blast, then dove off behind a rock and activated her lightsaber.

Anakin staggered in the dark looking around. He clenched his jaw as he saw bright lights coming towards him. Using his feelings he activated his saber and waited for the opportune moment.

Eva finished off the last of the Seperatist droids with a swing of her lightsaber and sat down to massage her aching ankle for a moment. She then looked at the speeder she hadn't <i>completely</i> destroyed and smirked. She had found a way home.

Anakin went for it. He was focused, yet confused on what was going on, due to the lack of eye sight. He slashed and destroyed the remaining droids in his path. He heard no more noise after this, only the wind. He breathed heavily. He felt that it was safe to put away his saber, but fought against his feelings, and kept it activated. He looked to his right, then to his left. Where did Eva go? He could see no trace of her. "Eva?" He said her name quietly, then repeated, this time louder, "Eva!"

Eva's mouth stuck like glue in a sideways smile as she climbed into the speeder and started the engines. She followed the shape of the canyon, as what she had observed from her fighter had told her that faced South, the direction of the town. Before long, she was approaching the outskirts, and pulled up before dawn. By the time it had registered with her that she had pulled up to a <i>Republic</i> hideout in a <i>Seperatist</i> speeder, three clones had come out with blasters. "WHOA!" she cried, putting up her hands, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Whoa, it's only me!"
"Master Jedi?"
"<i>Yes</i>," she said, putting down her arms. "Sorry, I just had to commandeer a speeder when I ran into some old friends," she smiled.
"We had reports that you and Skywalker went down," he said.
"We did," she replied, "But we got out....I guess he's not here yet, right?"
"No."
"Huh," she replied. "Well, let's get inside..." she said, following them into the hideout.

Anakin felt like a foolish young Padawan, staggering back and forth. "Eva!" His voice fell short because of a dry throat. He unactivated his saber and put it away. He pulled out his comlink and sent a message to Eva reading, "I think you've forgotten something."

"What?" asked Eva, then she got it. "Oh, shut up. Rot then." She paused, to make it seem like that was all, but in reality she was just messing with him. She was going to send out a search party to the canyon.

There was silence on the other end for a moment or two. Then more words came over, but this time they were full of static and noise that it sounded like a mad man on a beach.
