Aiko followed Yashamaru silently, a part of her longed to see Zutao again-yet her more sensible half told her to wait. He probably hates me by now, she thought silently. It's just as well-if I am to die, I would rather it be at his hand. “Your plan?” she asked Yashamaru as they neared the Koga wall.

"The plan is to first have you hide not far from here. I'll go in and talk to Zutao and Koruda. When everythings all clear, I'll come and escort you to the clan leader," he said...

Aiko nodded. "Very well," she stated simply. Scanning the surroundings briefly she scanned the woods surrounding the area. "I can remain there if you like," she added, indicating the woods. "To remain unseen is nothing new for a ninja-as I am sure you are well aware of."

"The best place to hide would be in the thicket. I'll be back as soon as I can," he said, and left. He entered the front gates without trouble or too much attention. He made his way around the courtyard until he saw Kuroda.
"Kuroda-kun, I need to talk to you in private," he said to the leader's son...
