I'm alright with the casting, Robert Pattinson is pretty close to what I pictured Edward to be. Kristen Stewart isn't all that plain looking, but the way she speaks is so Bella.
I just REALLY hope they don't screw this movie up, I'll be totally depressed if they do.

Edward looks like a tool in a baseball uniform.
And his Volvo is wrong, if indeed it is a Volvo. We've owned a Volvo, and that stupid little SUV thing is not what a true Volvo looks like. Get him a new one.
They got the eye's wrong, my last hope has just fled.
Bella's voice is even worse than her face.
It doesn't even put me in mind of how Bella should sound.
I didn't think that Vampires could have dark skin...

As to vampires being dark or not... I don't think there was ever as law written out that vampires had to be pale. I mean, anyone could become a vampire if they were bitten and they have to be convincing to living people, right?

B-but, in Stephanie Meyer's world, their all marbly-pale. I think she said something about being able to have olive-tinted skin, but still pale...I don't know, it made sense in my mind.
I'm not so concerned about their skin though, because I don't think they could make any human look like that without it being insanely cheesy.
What I'm concerned about...
--The casting. Who the heck was in charge of casting?
--The acting. From what I've seen...*dies*

Edward isn't at all what I pictured him as. And I watched "catch that kid" with kristen and... hmm. i don't see it.
i think that the books have all inspired us differently and there's no way they can make everyone happy.
james however, is amazing : )

BEG4G: I agree, I think all of us perceived the book differently... I can't tell you how many disagreements I've got in with other Twilights over the way Edward looks "to us/me."
Precious: Ehhh... I seriously doubt they'd cut the Port Angeles scene. Hopefully they're not that stupid. They're going to have a mob of angry fans if they do...

Yeah. I haven't read the book so I can't comare them to that, but I thought they looked pretty good. I think I'll see it in theaters. It looks like fun.
