Yeah, from your blog it sounds like it'll be a pretty intense year... my sister (a senior) also has a pretty intense year, shes' doing 2 correspondence courses for college credit...

I'm really not sure. I have two things that I think God could be leading me into, but I can't figure out which one I'd like to do. One that I'm looking at is being a lawyer. I'd want to work for HSLDA(Home School Legal defense). But I'd also like to own and/or mange a horse stable. I'd love to get into show jumping full time. Grand Prix level type stuff. Guess this all comes back to I'm not sure!

cool. Both sound kinda challenging. Maybe if I go into vet medicine, you can hire me as your stable vet!

Plans for the future: Possibly going to get into animal accupressure, photograhy, or be a security nanny when I get my black belt in Tae Kwon-Do. Would also like to get into acting, but I'm not enitrely sure where that will go.
LEE: Never actually heard of it. If I had I'd let you know!

I'll join in on all this homeschool fun.
Ok this should be interesting to find out, does the homeschooler stereotype seem strange and both anyone else? I wasn't really aware of a homeschooler stereotype until last year when I started getting to know some people then went to a big school.

^It depends on which stereotype you're talking about, Maethor. I know of two. The first is held by a lot of people in education or just people who don't really know much about homeschooling. The only home schoolers they regularly come into contact with are ones where their parents didn't actually teach them. They just sat around all day doing nothing. So the education people see lazy, ill educated kids. That stereotype bothers me.... a lot. I've actually gotten that one a few times. Especially recently when CA had that major scare about home schooling being made illegal.
The second is that all home schoolers are smarted then the average public schooled kid. That one doesn't really bother me. If anything it helps me work harder. Well, sometimes I work harder.
Padawan- I would so higher you to be my security nanny. That would be awesome! But what's 'animal acupressure'?

What do people think about the law the the apparently was going to be passed making HSing illegal in CA?

another stereotype of homeschoolers is one of "unsocialized brats" which I've gotten too. And the smarter-than-average school kids is one I've gotten to.
TT: wasn't that already a law? Because several months ago I met a woman who homeschools her daughter *they live in CA* and she said it was illegal for people to homeschool. Personally, I believe that's wrong. They can legalize homosexuality but outlaw homeschooling? Doesnt' that fall into the same category? (i.e. personal preference) That just burns me that CA would even DARE to pass a law or try to pass a law making something that is the parent's choice illegal.

I don't think it ended up being passed. Could be wrong though... it's very, very annoying. I don't understand the rational behind that at all. I mean, studies do show HSers being smarter the others... so why would they even consider out lawing it?
