Vari tilted her head back against the cold, grey stones of the cell and glanced over at Aurora without moving. “We could ask the same question, mate,” she replied, folding her arms over her chest. She was exhausted, both mentally and physically, although she didn’t want Emma to see it; see that she was weak. It seemed that even in prison she didn’t have time to collect her thoughts. Feeling her eyelids beginning droop, Vari looked at Emma, hoping the girl would have enough energy to briefly reiterate the story. For now, she needed sleep; Carmon’s floor had been anything but comfortable the night before and after a day like today…

Edward felt his pulse quicken as Sam finished reading. His heart was doing flips in his chest and he could feel a slight smile forming at the ends of his lips; I.. love.. you.. Was this a dream? Did the note really say those three life changing words? He didn’t even hear Cole and his mention of a doctor or Carmon crying. Glancing over at Sam, he saw the brief look of hurt and confusion in her eyes and noticed she seemed to be hiding something. “Sam…” he felt his heart breaking as he came to the realization that he would probably never see Vari or Emma again. Even so, he needed to ask her, right here, right now - not caring who heard at this point. She had done so much for him and was always there when he needed her. Edward leaned over as best he could and took the red-head’s hand in his own. “Sam, will ye marry me?”

Keyara returned the glare Cutler gave her and moved away from the railing just in time to miss one of the Kraken’s slimy tentacles as it snatched the officer standing to Beckett’s left and crushed the life out of him. She gave him a look that said, “I told you so” and watched as the officers below began to panic without orders from their captain.
Lieutenant Groves made his way up the stairs to where Cutler stood. “Milord, what would you have us do?” He asked, breathing hard and trying to keep his composure.
“Load the guns,” Keyara replied, wondering why no actual orders had been given. Lieutenant Groves squinted his brow; a woman? Giving orders upon a ship such as the Endeavour? He almost laughed, if Keyara had not spoken again. “Now,” she added, “or we will have the Devil to Pay and I doubt you want this to be your last day on God’s green Earth. Move!” Lieutenant Groves nodded obediently and hastened off to tell the other men the orders given to him by Keyara. She turned to face Cutler with cold, green eyes, caring not what his reaction would be - she would do whatever it took to save them all.

Sam barely noticed Carmon weeping. She felt numb inside and felt like drowning in her own thoughts. She was caught up in a haze of pictures. Memories of the past popped up of the three of them: Vari.. Ed.. and herself. She always had a thing for Edward. Had Vari known? Why did she pass that note to her? Cole's reply woke her up from her thoughts. You're a pirate. Did that make her a surgeon?
"No" she replied decided though with an unsteady voice when Cole mentioned a physician. "I ain't trustin' any doctors. We'll get the noose if we return."
She swallowed and quickly took her dagger from her boot and a flask of rum from her pocket from which she used a few droplets of the drink to clean the knife. Suddenly Sam heard Ed's voice. Will you marry me?
"What..?" Sam asked though she heard Edward's words. "But.. what.. how about Vari?"

"May I remind you of who is in charge here?" the Commodore replied to Jansen, his voice full of authority. He got on his feet so he was taller than Jansen and looked down upon him. "Those pirates will get arrested. And you will get compensation. But first things first." He marched to the door, went outside and mounted his horse. He would get these pirates..

Aurora-Rose noticed the one girl jumping slightly at the sound of her voice. It amused the blonde slightly, someone who was being sent to the jails shouldn't be so jumpy, unless they were not one of her kind and had been jailed for other reasons entirely. Shrugging at her own thoughts she moved a bit closer to the bars of the cell, forehead rolling along the cool bars, back and forth, back and forth. Ah, a good question indeed, it had been a long time since anyone had asked her why she was being locked up in the cell, the true story was too long, and she didn't feel like delving into the story at the moment. Instead she went for the short cut.
"Betrayal, mate... I am here because I was betrayed just before getting out onto the high seas" She grumbled a bit but then smirked, leaning back away from the bars which caused little marks to form upon the skin beneath her blond hair. "So how about you two?"

(here I am! No need to end it yet! That would be a tragedy!!  )
Emma warily watched Aurora. She really didn’t care to be talking to anyone at the moment, especially to someone like this. Personally, Emma thought this woman looked pretty much like she was on the edge… the edge of something. Sanity, reality, something. She looked back at Vari only to find that her companion probably wouldn’t be much help here. Vari looked drained. And Emma sympathized with her. She took a long breath, let it out in a very long and loud sigh before returning her attention to Aurora. “That is a great story,” she said, trying to end the conversation as quickly as possible and not wanting to go into details about the day that had just passed, “we’re here because of soldiers, their commodore and a man called Jansen.” she stopped and left it at that. It as a decent modified version of their story and she liked it well enough and hoped the blonde woman would too and leave it at that.

Cole whirled around from where he had been standing before Sam. “Did… did Ed just say what I think he said?” he stared in astonishment. “He must be out of his right mind.” he glanced over at Sam to see how she receive the impromptu proposal. To his surprise she didn’t display the same look on her face as he thought she would. “No, no,” he said, snapping back into the scene and bent back over Ed, making sure he was the other man‘s full focus and not Sam. “Ed, we have to get the bullet out. The only thing you need to be thinking about is a happier place where there is no pain so we can do this quickly.” He looked back at Sam as if to say ‘it’s no or never if you don’t want to take him to see a physician.’ inside Cole gulped down the lump coming to his throat. He wasn't sure how he would be able to handle something like this. He had never been thrown into a position like the one he was in right now.
Carmon stood where she was, basically useless now. She glance warily around the woods one more time before sighing. She had finally checked her sobs and come back into the reality of the situation at hand. She only wished something would happen. Edward would get well, the others would come back, they could go back to life as normal. Something. It seemed like the minutes clicked by like decades in this horrible trance.

Cutler had been watching Keyara as she walked away, wondering… his thoughts stopped, for a minute his breathing seemed to have stopped too. Was that? Yes, it was. One of the giant tentacles from the alleged Kraken. He quickly jumped out of the way as another one of the sailors was dragged to his doom. Suddenly the deck of the Endeavour went from fairly peaceful to a mad house of screaming men, crashing wood and booming guns. Cutler heard one voice above the rest, Keyara’s. She was yelling out orders to Lieutenant Groves. He looked at Groves, waiting to see what the bewildered man would do. Beckett was almost ready to swallow his pride and second Keyara’s order when she made sure it was seconded on her own. He glared at her, this was hard to stomach and he would make sure that from now on HE would give the orders on his ship. Not this girl. His men didn't know how to react to a woman like her. And he wanted no more of this nonsense. His eyes met hers for a moment before the havoc on the ship drew him away elsewhere. “How are we going to get out of this bloody mess?” he thought as he watched yet another green, slimy tactical drag a man out of sight. The sight of his top sailors and his beautiful ship getting almost ripped apart infuriated him, but how could he fight a creature that couldn’t be manipulated, tricked, talked to, reasoned with or in any other way forced into doing what he wanted it to do like all the other people he had dealt with?

Jansen was not daunted by Norrington‘s tone of voice, “and may I remind you who‘s home this is the pirates distroyed and who contributes much to this town?” he wasn‘t afraid of the other man‘s height or anything. When it came down to a fist fight Jansen was a burly man and to him little Commodore Norrington looked slightly scrawny. “just make sure they DO get arrested. Don‘t let them escape like that Sparrow fellow. I would hate for a friendship to get ruined over you slacking on the job.” he eyed the Commodore and followed him out and to his horse.
(I dunno when Beckett and the rest will be able to come, Will...  but ASAP, I'm sure! Cutler and Keykey probably would rather be on Port Royal right now than where they are.  )

After determining that the voices were coming from the exterior of the building and that it was in fact empty, Alex decided to explore the interior of the shop. She froze as she heard the door open. Just bloody brilliant, thought Alex, dashing behind the bellows, recovering her senses.

Edward felt his breath hitch in his throat; he glanced at the knife shining in the midday light and looked towards Cole. In all of the years the two had been friends, Ed had never seen him look so confused… so desperate. He imagined he looked somewhat similar. “Just do it,” he growled, feeling the sharp pain shooting throughout his body. “Remove it…now.” Right now, Edward didn’t care how much it hurt to pull the bullet out or how much blood would be lost - nothing could hurt more than losing both of the women he held close in one day. He grasped Sam’s hand in his own and placed the tip of the dagger near the spot the bullet had pierced. “Carmon,” he rasped, “don’t watch.” He knew a woman like her wouldn’t be familiar with such horrifying images and he didn’t want her to see it if it could be helped.

Vari cocked her head and studied Aurora as Emma told the story that had unfolded only a few hours earlier. She took in the other woman’s features… her thick locks of blonde hair and delicate face marred with dirt. The girl looked a lot like Miss Elizabeth Swann… in fact, the resemblance was somewhat striking to Vari. “So… do ye happen to know a certain captain… goes by the name of Jack Sparrow?” Her dark eyes watched Aurora with interest, knowing that she had seen the other girl somewhere, she just couldn’t remember the time or place. Now fully awake, she moved closer towards Aurora’s cell so they could speak in a more hushed tone.

Keyara caught Cutler’s gaze, her eyes filled with anger and determination. Why had he done nothing? Pretending like nothing was happening certainly wouldn’t make this monster disappear. They needed to take action, and she knew she had to be the one to do it. Breaking the tension between them, Keyara hurried down the stairs to the main deck to assist the men any way she could, not caring if they wanted her help or not - they would get it either way. She gasped as one of the creature’s monstrous tentacles slammed onto the deck in front of her, then another behind her; searching for helpless prey. It was then that Keyara realized she was trapped, and found herself staring down the dark abyss of the Kraken’s mouth. The stench itself was enough to bring a soldier to his feet, but Keyara’s delayed reaction to move had sealed her fate. One of the tentacles latched onto her ankle and pulled her into the air above the deck of the Endeavour; she felt her pulse quicken and her voice left her throat in a single word as she called out, “Cutler!”
[[Ha ha, Keyara would definitely rather be in Port Royal than dangling above the ship’s deck, believe me. Hopefully they can get there soon. ]]

The other girl who was with the dark haired woman told her why they were in the cell. Her words were vague and she figured that they did not want to talk about it... or at least Emma didn't want to... so she left it at that. She knew when to push for more information, and now was not the time.
Aurora noticed the dark haired girl studying her, as if she had seen a familiar glimpse of someone she knew in Aurora. It made the blond curious and her head even tilted slightly to the side like a kitten who is experiencing the first days of life.
This began to place questions in Aurora-Rose's mind, suddenly Vari seemed familiar to her as well, but maybe it was just a figment of her imagination. She had met many people throughout her years of life...
Her head strengthened and jaw clenched when Vari spoke of a certain...notorious captain. One by the name of Jack Sparrow... Fingers gripped the bar a bit too tightly and her knuckles went white before she realized what she was doing and let go, taking a deep breath which relaxed her sudden tension.
"Yes, I am familiar with Captain Jack Sparrow... what do you know of him?" She questioned the dark haired woman in the other cell, her voice more hushed now.
