Meh. I'm not happy with this vignette. It sounds stunted and way more juvenile than I usually write. The ending is pretty much the only reason I wrote it and so, in that respect, I hope it clears things up for those who had questions and those who were wondering what would happen next. It could even be called anti-climactic now that I'm rereading it... Ah well, I'll let you decide that for yourself.

The First True Kiss</center>

I ride toward the harbour in a daze, hardly taking in any of my surroundings as emotion after emotion rise up in me and crash into each other before falling back into the pit of despair lying heavily on my heart. First comes fear, followed by anger, then loathing as I look down onto the fort and the docks spread before me.

Storming into the fort, I meet my lieutenants who seem surprised to see me in such a state. Taking off my hat and wig I run a hand through my hair, agitated. They stare as I pace up and down the room attempting to regain composure.

Are you joking? That was terrific, dear! I only wish it had been longer so I could spend more time reading it. I love how you resolved it, though I'm crossing my fingers for James and hoping Elizabeth doesn't crush all his newly-found hopes.

*grumbles about stupid fickle Elizabeth*

Aww, thanks, Ammy. I'm still sort of on the edge about this one, but if you like it then I'm satisfied. I can't wait to get back to writing more angst. I think that's what I've been missing lately.

Just wondering -- ForeverFrodo was commenting on DeviantArt that she was a bit confused as to why I had Will brought to the Norrington home with Elizabeth. Did anyone else feel that way? I want things to be as clear as possible, and am actually thinking of rewriting some of that bit to make things clearer.

You all are going to hate me for this, but yes, I did revise vignette 6 "The First True Kiss". I am much, much happier with this version, and I hope you will be as well [even if you did like the original]. Same preview, different cut.

Sorry for the double post. Just wanted to let all of you know that I've got the 7th vignette typed up and am in the process of editting it. I'm hoping to do a long editting session later today and perhaps have it up by this evening or Monday evening.
