Malachi bowed slightly to his pupil. "I would not exercise overmuch concern. Lady Sonja is capable. Likely as not she is coming. She spends much time observing the Lycans, I am told." He said, keeping one eye on the entrance, seating himself and inviting Theia to do the same, his vambraces clanking agains the wood.

Theia sat down next to him with a smile, though the worried look had not gone from her eyes. She knew full well she should have gone and got Sonja, not left her to herself. Sonja was going to be in alot of trouble for being late becuase she had been...well there was no other word for it, Theia knew that if not already at least pretty soon Sonja would be going there to 'socilaise' with the Lycans.
"But that is the problem Master. She spends almost too much time...and I have reason to belive that it is not simple observance that takes her there. I am worried over her fathers anger when he discovers."

Malachi nodded, taking a glass of wine and swilling it moodily. "It is not our business, Theia. Lord Viktor is Lady Sonja's father, and it is his decision to discipline her as he sees fit. If Lady Sonja visits the Lycans and speaks unduly to them against her father's wishes, hen there is little any of us can do about it."

"Maybe its not our buissness....but Sonja is my freind and though he be my master Victor..." she lowered her voice and leaned towards him so that her breath brushed his neck as she whispered words only he could hear "...Victor is my enemy." She drained her glass and reached for another one. "I do not like seeing them incaptivity, but I shall dislike even more seeing Sonja being punished for her kindness."

Malachi nodded. "He has only my oath of loyalty, not my respect. But listen: the Lycans could inflict a great harm this night. While we celebrate, they guard our walls. Viktor is a fool to expect thier loyalty." He said angrily, paying no heed to the grip on his glass until the crystal shattered in his hand. He hissed out a muffled curse and stood to gather the fragments.

Theia knelt down beside him and her eyes met his "What will you do when they attack...for surely they will. They would be fools not to, all the vampire together, and most of us not taught how to fight anything but humans and that only in sport. Victor belives we no longer need such skills." The scorn was plain in her voice.

Malachi said nothing for a while, contemplating the question. "I would harm Viktor, but the Lycans would kill me on sight. In truth, I myself do not know what I would do." He admited, gathering the last of the crystal on his left hand and placing it in a pile on a platter.

((Sliiightly. When they attack you could have him just refuse to fight. Say something like "I wish you no harm" to the Lycans and run off and not help Victor and then parley with the Lycans. Wasn't Malachi going to be on the Lycan's side anyway?))

Theia nodded at his words. "I fear death. But this life destorys the soul whitch ever way you look at it." She smiled bitterly and moved her sword slightly to reveal hidden in the folds of the gold cloth wrapped tightly around her waist a small olive-wood roseary.
"When I was a human I was Catholic you know" she said sadley and standing up putting her share of the glass with his. "I have become the thing I belived was most evil." She straightned her shoulders and looked at him squarely "I will fight. Fight with those i belive to be right...though i do not know who that will be yet..."

Marysska shuffled out of her room and into the hallways. Clad in a dark red dress, her hair neatly tied up behind her head. She looked significantly different from her usual Death Dealer self. She despised these events, not enjoying the restrictions of such attire. Not to mention the large number of her kin in the one place at the same time. The tension would be so thick it would have to be sliced with an axe. However, this was Lord Viktors wish and she would obey.

Arriving at the hall, Marysska took a deep breath and walked into the large decadent ballroom. Tables and chairs were all set up, some arrivals were already there, talking amongst themselves. She noticed Theia and Malachi in deep conversation. But instead of a confrontation with the young Vampire she walked to the other side of the room, feeling entirely awkward and isolated.
"Where are you Sonja?" she thought, concerned for her friends whereabouts.

Malacho nodded. "That is all a warrior should ever do. Only a mercenary stands for a cause he knows to be wrong." He barely glanced at the rosary. "I was a Druid, when the Romans came. I was changed after I fled the sack of my home. My people had little knowledge of ones such as us. But I had heard tales of demons. And so, I did what I could. Not even my assassination efforts stopped the Romans." He said, a tone of self-dissapointment and failure in his voice.

Some things in history are fixed; and i belived it was fate that the Romans would conquer almost all they met. We cannot defeat Fate."
