Yeah, I'm back, again, again, again, again.
I really have no idea how many times I've slunk back here...
Anyhoo, what with the Hobbit and all I am really going to try to make an effort to stick around more.
But my most important piece of news is that I've finally read The Silmarillion!

5/6 years of trying and I've finally managed it!
Something has clicked in the past fortnight. I've always struggled with Tolkien. It took me until I was 14/15 to finally read LotR (I'd been trying since I was 10) and even after that I still struggled with it. In fact, I've only ever read it all the way through twice. Because for the past 5 years I've started to re-read it get to the end of book 3 (which is my favourite part - Ents, Rohan, need I say more? ), turn over the page and it's Frodo and Sam. And I realise that I've got to read the same timespan again but this time Frodo and Sam before I can get to book 5 and Gondor. So I tend to give up.
And as for the Sil... I've been trying ever since I read LotR for the first time but really, really, really struggled with it. Even reading along with the audiobook I only managed to get to page 150 or so.
But last week I decided to have a re-read of the Hobbit because I'd been looking at the film stuff on the internet. Read it in a couple of hours. Then the next night I picked up LotR and I read it in 3 days (reading from about 10pm until 3am or so (I don't really sleep

)). Got the Silmarillion and I read it over the weekend.
I have no idea how or why but finally something has clicked and my dyslexia isn't hindering Tolkien anymore.
Anyhoo, sorry for the essay. When I finished the Sil I felt like the moment deserved fireworks and champagne but all I could do was go to sleep.. So, instead, I'm gushing all over the internet about it...
So, I'm going to try to stick around a lot more now.
Its good to see all you lovely people again!
