Apologies ... I had a shoot-me week.
Knowing that she couldn't depend on her non-Jedi intuition, na'Tatha turned to the sensor console. It took her a few moments to familiarize herself with the interface. She located the heat, emissions, and biosign sensors, and set them to looking for any prominent aberrances in the surrounding landscape.

Lol, I know the feeling, Valera.
A blinking red dot appeared on the sensors at the same time they started beeping. Sahrai punched in a command on the control board, and the target location was highlighted on the viewscreen, with various bits of information shown as well. "Here we go," Sahrai said as he started lowering the ship.

Viree13 sighs as the sensors start beeping. Instead of being impatient, she relaxes visibly. At least, it would be visible if she wasn't already invisible......

na'Tatha slid into her utility vest, comfortable with its weight, and made sure that it was secure. Strapping on her weapons pack, she ran a last mental check. Weapons, comm, survival and med gear, datapads. Now would not be a good time to forget something.
She gazed at the clearing into which they were descending. It was decently sized. with convenient granite formations scattered about. There was a good deal of underbrush, but from the air it looked to be clear.

Ack, sorry for my absence the last two days - my English teacher has developed an awful idea that it'd be good to give us a paper to write every class, due the next class. Not fun. I haven't had to write papers all summer, and now I'm getting one every class. Grrr.
Setting the ship down gently in a clearing near the target zone, Sahrai shut down all the main systems, unbuckled his crash webbing, and stood up. From the viewscreen, he could see that the commando's ship had set down next to them. Sahrai sighed and pulled on his pack. This was the part where it either became really fun, or really sad and angering. Either way, fighting was still where he had the most trouble with the Dark side. It's temptation was always stronger, then, as with most other Jedi. Leaving the bridge, Sahrai walked to ramp, waiting for the others to get off the ship before activating the security systems.

Viree13 glides off the ship, carrying nothing but her weapons and staying invisible. "So, what now, CiC?..... Commander in Chief, that is......" Her presence is right by Sahrai's elbow, almost unsettlingly close, since there is no one visible......

you make me grateful I don't have any until next semester in MatSci... Academics always take priority.
na'Tatha stepped down from the boarding ramp, senses alert to danger, even though the Serendipity's sensors had shown no life except their own. She fell into a position close to the ship, acutely aware of the sniper's rifle slung over her back. As she watched, the New Republic commando team's ship settled neatly onto the ground, repulsorlifts quietly humming. The doors opened and a number of combat-kitted men filed out. The subcommander eyed them, sizing them up.

Lol, Valera.
Daaron's stony expression didn't change as he exited the ship, noticing the Taarin commander eyeing his team. Inwardly, he laughed. It always happened that way - everyone sized them up the first time they met, and still got surprised at their efficiency. He sent off Anden and Jor, his two snipers, to stand guard before they set out - they had the best eyes on his team, and were incredibly hard to see unless you knew what to look for. Seeing Sahrai, a small grin did crack his hard face. It had actually been a while since they had seen each other.
--
Sahrai couldn't help but look impressed as Daaron's snipers literally vanished almost as soon as they were among the trees, moreso because he knew that their light armor didn't have any stealth-field generators. "Good to see you again, Daaron," he said, giving his friend a quick hug, avoiding anything that looked sharp, though. He glanced over at one of Daaron's men, who, in contrast to the others, wore a full suit of body armor, instead of just a chest-plate. "When'd he get the new kit?" Sahrai asked, raising an eyebrow. That armor looked to be almost nothing but retractable blades and spikes. "It doesn't hamper his stealth any, does it?" When Daaron replied in a negative, he nodded, relieved. "Oh, pardon me. Daaron, this is Sub-commander Tenil na'Tatha," he said, leading Daaron over. "Sub-commander, this is Major Daaron Fahl."
Agh. I've got to go now.....and I'll be gone for the weekend at some conference sort of thing with my family that I just found out about yesterday. Bleh.

Viree13 materializes right beside Sahrai and Daaron, grinning slightly. "Hello there, Daar......" She winks at him. "Nice t'see you again......."

apologies for absence. Wilderness backpacking - in the rain - rocks!
na'Tatha threw Major Fahl a casual salute, a greeting to an equal. She was about to speak when Viree13 winked into existence, forcing the subcommander to step sideways. She held her peace and listened to the conversation, observing the major closely.

Lol, wrong character, Luinnar - you've been using Viree in this thread.
Sounds fun, Valera. Never done that before.
Daaron blinked when Viree13, the ex-Jedi, appeared next to him. "Hello there, Daar......" she said, winking at him. "Nice t'see you again." "Nice to see you too," he said, allowing a little bit of a smile to show on his face. It generally made people feel better if they thought you were happy to see them again. Not that he wasn't happy about Viree being around, but he didn't have the long-lasting friendship with her that he had with Sahrai. Only his old friend and his own parents were greeted with actual gladness. He was relieved, though, that there were two Jedi - rather, Force-users - around. It would make the mission easier, and reduce the chance of any casualties.
-----
Sahrai grinned slightly as he felt Daaron's lack of enthusiasm as he greeted Viree. Undoubtledly, she could feel it too, but he had never heard her comment on it. He knew it would probably bug him if he felt that lack directed towards him, but she handled it surprisingly well, in his opinion. Maybe someday Daaron would get it into his head that smiling didn't do much for a Force-user. "Let's get going," he said, grimacing inwardly at the hint of impatience in his voice. "Daaron, you know the drill - we're going to need some recon of the area." He turned to Viree. "Maybe you can help with that, since you seem to enjoy being invisible so much," he suggested.

Viree13 gives a cheesy salute and grins. "Sounds great..... I'll follow you, O illustrious one....." She turns to Daaron with the last statement, not missing his unenthusiasm. It doesn't phase her, she's used to worse..... Like being shot at...... lol

The subcommander stood silently but observantly, not missing the interplay between the two Jedi and the New Republic major. However, the parade correctness of her stance belied her anxiety to get this phase of the mission underway. The sooner they completed their task, the better, leaving a minimal amount of evidence to suggest their presence.

Daaron motioned, and a few of his team members quickly spread the camo-net over the top of the ship, covering it all the way to the ground, and imbedded with systems that effectively negated the resonance of metal and electricity on that spot. He looked over at Sahrai, who shrugged and nodded. Apparently he hadn't brought a net. "One for our Jedi, too," Daaron said to his team. Another net was pulled out quickly from their packs and the Serendipity was covered within a few minutes. That done, they moved off quickly, Anden and Jor moving on ahead to scout their destination.
----
Sahrai shrugged, realizing ruefully that he had forgotten to bring a camouflage net. At least Omega squad had a spare. When they moved off after camouflaging the ships, he stayed near the front, stretching out with the Force, to give the team that much more warning before any enemies attacked. Sighing, he wished he had his rifle. Highly customized, it was a fast-firing, extremely accurate sniper rifle. Coupled with his Force senses, it was incredible. However, he had lost it in a firefight a few weeks back and hadn't had time to replace it. His lightsabers would have to do, for the time being.

na'Tatha moved easily with the team, reverting back to habits acquired in training and several missions. She kept her weapons packed, although her finger itched for her rifle grip - she'd never worked with Jedi before. Usually, a Taarin covert ops team would depend on satellite intel, but they always had their guns out, in case the space-based equipment failed to pick up a compromising element. This time it was different.
As they progressed, she found that she relished the crisp military functionality of the commando squad. She'd been buried under red tape and protocol for too long. Out here, roles and objectives were clearly defined.
