I think I can look over it, as the sole representative of male members.
To Gwen- Language? I never knew we spoke a different language than girls. Well, actually....maybe....

ok i have another question....
the guy i like (brett) and my friend and i were talking today during math class. She said to us "I think you two are going to date this year." I didn't say anything but he said no but he said it weird it didn't sound like his voice. I'm wondering if someone said that to one of you guys and you liked that girl and she was right next to you what would you say?
sorry if that doesn't make sence i feel really shakey and nervous and just completely out of wack...

when you say that he said No wierd, is it the sorta No, that actually means yes..and thats why you're confuzzled...?

i dont know he said it like mono-tone-ish like there was no way to tell what he felt behind his words

^ from what i've read in this thread i gather you know about that...so i wont say anything....dont completly rely on this NMD, you never know, you are the only one who knows him really and so you should look for signs....i can never bring myself to ask a guy if he likes me, so i'll just usually state confidently that he likes another girl, and see what happens, though this backfired once and i ended up helping the guy ask the other girl out...eeek....

Ok, I have a question (or several) for you ladies.

If a guy came up to you and -after due ceremony (:P)- said he 'liked' you, what would you do? Would you be pleased and honoured he told you, or would you wish he had kept his mouth shut?

Personally I would be very pleased and flattered if a guy said he liked me. It's always a great feeling to hear someone say they admire you or like you. Unfortunately though I might not like said guy back. If I don't I'd probably thank him for being so open and thoughtful, and then tell him that he really is a nice guy [confidence boost!], but I just don't feel the same way.

Darrell wrote:
Also, would it make a difference to you if you had a boyfriend? And if you didn't, would you expect him to go a step further and ask you out?

If I had a boyfriend I would let the poor guy who asked know. Then I'd pretty much repeat what I just said in the above paragraph.
Hmm... if I didn't I dunno if I'd want him to ask me out. It might become awkward especially if I don't know him that well, or if I end up saying no.

Ok, I know that was a lot of questions, but this I something that is kinda topical for me at the moment, and I have been wondering about it for a while.

Hope my answers somewhat helped you! :)

Ok, this has been bothering a bit so I might as well ask. A guy asks a girl out to a dance and the girl says yes. When the day of the dance comes, the guy confronts his date and regretfully tells her that he has no idea how to dance. How would you react if you were the girl or if the reverse happened, the guy.
(Yes, I will be the guy who asks the girl to a dance but has no idea how to dance in the first place)

I would just tell him I couldn't dance either! Wich I can't. But if I could, I would offer to teach you something very basic, like, the four-step waltz. Thats what I would do! Just let her lead! ;) Don't worry too much. The same thing happened to me. He taught me well and we were dancing like no tomorrow! But that would be if you asked me. Teehee! :-D

I would tell her right away. Something like "Will you go to the dance with me? I have to warn you that I don't know how to dance." That way if she doesn't want to go with someone who can't dance, she doesn't feel "stuck" the day of the dance. If she doesn't mind, maybe she'd be willing to teach you a little before the dance. :-)

I agree with Pilgrim on this one. You probably should have warned her when you asked her out.

Personally though, I don't think it would be that big of a deal, and I'd still go with you. ;)

Me: "Oh good, neither do I!"

Almost all of the poeple I asked if they were going to homecoming said they couldn't dance, either. People are just unsure. And especially at Homecoming and other dances like that, you just kind of move. I think it's sort of like a wedding reception, you just do your own thing. But I've never been to King of Heats, Homecoming, or Prom, so I wouldn't know for sure...

We've had several formals, but people don't really dance as in waltzing or whatever. You just move, as Gwen said. There really isn't a right or wrong way to do it. Unless you have two left feet... :P

I agree with what has been said. Firstly, it wouldn't matter to me if my partner couldn't dance (I know i can't) and at most 'dances' and stuff people don't dance in any specific style, you just sort of, go with the flow :P

And thanks to everyone who answered my question. your answers have been noted and stored :p And I'll let you all know if I decide to 'make a move' :D

You'll be amongst the first to hear if anything occurs :P There's nothing to tell at the moment though, other than I fancy her :P And -this is a snagging point (for me at least)- we are friends. this being a problem for me because if I make a mess up, I don't want to lose her friendship...
