@ Kit - I have a much more better ending. Don't include the whole Will being stabbed storyline (there for dramatic and emotional impact only) and have Bootstrap come to his senses, realise that Davy Jones is trying to harm his son, and have Bootstrap stab the heart. Jack doesn't get his immortality (hence the Fountain of Youth storyline), Elizabeth and Will are free to be themselves again and Bootstrap is free of his 100 years sentance, and gets to be a proper pirate again, but with a real purpose this time.

I don't know if I ever really considered it a love triangle, it anoyed the heck out of me yes, but only because of how Elizabeth used Jack. I never took it as serious threat to Will and Elizabeth. Indeed, on Jack's part nothing was mentioned about any romantical attatchment to Elizabeth in this film.

Good point about whether Elizabeth is a pirate or not in later years. For me, I don't even want to think about it. I'm just trying to forget I saw that scene after the credits.

There was a scene at the very end of the credits that shows a little boy singing "A Pirate's Life for Me" while he and Elizabeth walk over to a cliff overlooking a harbour, and they see a green flash in the sunset and then the Dutchman sailing in - and a shot of Will in the rigging. Actually, I had almost gotten control of myself by this time, and burst into tears again at that :)

Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Ok, I just got back from seeing it again, and something's really bothering me...

Did anyone else see that Jack's bandana bounced from being faded to being dark red the whole movie?

The most confusing part for me was trying to figure out who was betraying who and if they were actually betraying them. And who was last in control of the Pearl.

I think my favorite part was when they were trying to tip the Pearl over. The whole sunset-sunrise thing was really cool! I was suprised it made sense.

I was absolutely blown away by the battle between the Pearl and the Dutchman. After I learned to ignore the fact that there's no way half the stuff could have happened in the rain and wind, it was completely entranced. The suspense nearly killed me!

And to let my hormones take hold of me for a second, Will looked AWESOME in this one!

The soundtrack is superb. Hans Zimmer tends to get a bit samey after a while, with certain pieces of music used for all his films. With AWE (apart from the recurring POTC themes) I can’t make out any pieces of re-used music. This score is the best of the POTC soundtracks. My favourite is possibly Up is Down as it just makes me laugh remembering what was happening in that scene.

He reused most of the main themes from the film King Arthur. Since they were written for that movie, they fit a whole lot better there, and it annoyed me to hear the music for my favorite scenes from that one thrown into AWE.

The soundtrack is actually my only complaint about the film.

I stand corrected in that case then. ;)

Ah, well... just think of all the John Willaims scores and how similar they resemble each other. From Stars Wars, to Superman to Indiana Jones. They are still great pieces of music.

Well to my ear, they work perfectly in AWE, so maybe that is why he also chose to re-use some of the themes. :-)

Really? I had no idea as I've never seen King Arthur. What a big disappointment for those who have.. :(

By the way, potr mentioned a while back that the wedding scene played on Jay Leno one night. Does anyone know if you can get that online somehow? I'd love to have it so I could get someone to make a moving avatar for me.. :P

Well.... just think about the Hunt for Red October and Crimson Tide fans.... and Gladiator fans. Listen to those soundtracks often enough, and the main Pirates theme crops up in all them. It's what composers do. John Williams, Danny Elfman etc etc. It's what happens.

You should look on YouTube. :-) Ooh... I haven't made one of those for a while.

*sigh* I found it, but it didn't show the part I wanted. Maybe I will go look around on YouTube like you suggested. They have everything! :P

Hmm.. you haven't made one of those for a while, and I want one. I think I'll shoot you a PM about it. ;)

I'm not sure if it would work though. Ideally I need a clip I can download to my computer and I'm not sure if I can do that with YouTube. :-(

Perhaps Pirates may know of a clip somewhere?
