I'm really, really disappointed in Tonks physically --- most specifically her hair. Please, please, at least ONCE in the whole movie, let her have BUMBLEGUM PINK SPIKEY HAIR.


Only one pic of Remus I saw, and he looks extraordinarily younger ? Seriously! It looks like time just went backwards for him since PoA! I can't wait for this movie though!

If they end up not showing anything of Remus in the promos or in any theatrical trailers, I'm going to to squeal my top off when he comes on screen for OotP --------- actually is David Thewlis even casted yet?

Highlight to read.

First of all. Reading HP 7 has left me clinically depressed. Thank you, JKR.

You've torn open my chest, ripped out my heart, sauteed it in a skillet, thrown it on the floor, stomped on it with cleats, and left it on your windowsill for stray ravens and crows to pick at.

Always a great way to end your series with your fans. Really, it is.

DH started out brilliantly, we get to hear it from Voldemort himself that Tonks had married Lupin. HOW AWESOME IS THAT? Later we hear about the wedding from Tonks and Lupin themselves, however small the mention was. Tonks was happy, Lupin was being a martyr. All was well.

Later, after the showdown at Bill and Fleur's wedding, Lupin shows up at Grimmauld Place to bribe the kids into letting him go with them on their journey, their mission. He explains that he and Tonks are not arguing or having trouble with the relationship, the problem is: She's pregnant. [LE GASP] He continues to reason with them about going with them. Harry doesn't bite, says, "Go home to your family. You should be ashamed of yourself. Btw, stop being a martyr, it gets old three books in."

When Lupin told them she was going to have a baby, I jumped up from my in front of my living room coffee table where I sat and read, and danced around in my living screaming and yelling and receiving funny looks from my brother.

The next time I jumped up and squealed my head off was in the middle of the <i>Potterwatch</i> newscast on the radio as Ron mentions, "Did I tell you? I found out from Bill that Lupin's living with Tonks again. She's gotten quite big actually." Not exact quote, I'm trying to extract the memory in between the moments of me jumping around my living room.

I love the image of PREGNANT!Tonks. It's just... too cute.

The next unexpected Remus/Tonks moment is when Remus bursts into the Shell Cottage and proclaims, "IT'S A BOY, WE'VE NAMED HIM TED AFTER TONKS' FATHER AND I'LL HAVE PICTURES NEXT TIME BUT I'M JUST WAY TOO EXCITED AND I KNOW YOU ONLY SAID TO COME TO YOU IN AN EMERGENCY BUT THIS IS MY MID-LIFE CRISIS, SO SEE YA."

Awesome.

Next moment, Remus shows around the baby picture of Teddy Lupin. SO CUTE. And it's so comically done in between the reunion of Percy and the Weasley family. I think that possibly is the only time Rowling has used Lupin for humor.

Lupin goes and leads off the group to fight. Tonks comes to the Room of Requirement and rushes off to help Lupin---however she asks Aberforth if he's seen him, and Aberforth tells her that he last saw Lupin fighting Dolohov but Harry and his group ran into Dean Thomas and Parvati fighting Dolohov---- my first gut feeling, right there. I was distraught, because there's a 80% chance JKR had a reason for re-using Dolohov.

Lupin was dead, and most likely, Tonks was too.

So it was in no surprise that when the Hogwartians gathered all their dead and injured their was Lupin and Tonks lying peacefully next to Fred.

I bawled. It was so unfair, it was so cruel. How could JKR do it?

I had a feeling though that Lupin and Tonks were the ones that JKR said she killed off two main characters she didn't mean to.

Why Lupin, particularly? Out of all the people who so deserved to LIVE.

My only consolation was that they left a piece of themselves in this world under the image of Teddy Lupin and that they died together, because they could not live apart.

Lesson learned: DO NOT NAME PEOPLE GODFATHER, you doom yourself.

I'm not talking about Ted Lupin, I'm talking about Ted Tonks. ... People always get confused when I say Ted Tonks----I adore Ted. [cries] It's just so cruel. He shows up and then he dies.

The consequences of war is horrid. But I will always be thankful for JKR for making Andromeda and Ted canon. THEY EXIST, and they're ANOTHER SHIP that I lovebutaren'ttotallyobsessedabout. I feel so bad for Andromeda, she's widowed, her daughter and her newly wedded husband are killed in battle, and she has an infant to raise. Gah, if she wasn't a Black, strong-willed, loving, and indifferent to the issues raised for wizarding lines, I would say she would go mad. I only wished that Ted was able to live long enough to see his grandson.

I expect she HAD to introduce them if she was going to KILL OFF Remus and Tonks. [begrudgingly so]

I had a post-HP 7 therapy session with my friends and so we were doodling since we're a bit of art freaks especially for our fandom. I drew several images of myself in anticipation for HP and the aftermath of HP, then I drew a picture in memory of Tonks & Lupin and I was extremely proud of it, so I'll post it up once I put on finishing touches.

BTW: Let's not talk about the other points of DH that doesn't directly involve Remus / Tonks. It'd be off-topic.

I know!! Y'know, despite the fact that it's in a Voldemort---Death Eater chapter, I wasn't phased at all, I was just SO HAPPY I couldn't contain myself. I expected that they would be together, but married? This made me extremely happy. I even grin when they joked about cubs. [giggles]



Oh, I know! Argh. He was being extremely self-pitying right there and it just gets old. He has absolutely no reason to be grumpy like that. He's married to a beautiful woman, she's bearing his child, he's soon to be father, and he goes off and feels sorry for himself----I'm surprised Tonks hasn't taken his actions personally, but it's Tonks. She loves him no matter what, and that's why she's perfect for him.

Brilliant moment. I love you, Lupin.



I had to re-read that, because at first I'm thinking, "Oh they got knocked out" until I realized they're lying next to the dead bodies and ....the water-works came.



Is this the exact quote? Because I find it odd that he wouldn't say "we" or is he aware that Tonks also died?



It's almost funny if you think about it in a non-martyr angle. Lupin is saying, "PLEASE TAKE ME AWAY FROM HER MOOD SWINGS."

I hope they -didn't- die in each other's arms---that would be incredibly cheesy, but I do hope that they died honorably, heroicly, and nobly---because they deserve a death no less.

JKR revealed that Dolohov killed Lupin and Bellatrix killed Tonks. Okay, I can understand Bellatrix and Tonks---BUT DOLOHOV?! SERIOUSLY?! Can't Lupin be killed by someone more formidable?
It's just.... I'm so depressed. Gah. Makes Bellatrix's death SO MUCH MORE SATISFYING. ARGH!!!!! [goes to order three hundred boxes of stress-squeeze balls]

The new ducklings have been casted----though the descriptions of their character seem superficial and not worth mentioning, though one of them is around his 50's and is a plastic surgeon. All I have to say is, "Oh joy. [headdesk]"

Doesn't specifically have to be a training program, a fellowship is open to everyone---but it's the fact that he's gonna be working under a DIAGNOSTICIAN.... I really hate these writers.

Unless his team are a bunch of IDIOTS who are like, "Of course, Dr. House---whatever you say." And kill 70% of his patients.

Everytime I think about the fact that DOLOHOV killed Lupin, I'm not quite sure I can contain myself on just breaking out in a string of swear words.

Dolohov?! Seriously? I would've been satisfied if it was Bellatrix, Rudolphus, maybe. But... DOLOHOV?!

Dolohov, who was bull-rushed and taken down by a couple of school kids who weren't even in school that year to practice all the things about the dark arts, killed Remus Lupin, an old veteran Order member who has already survived one war, the only living member of the infamous Marauder group, a brilliant wizard and werewolf.

So I was daydreaming every single second of work today and I was thinking. If Lupin (assumingly) did not know that Tonks had also died due to his conversation with Harry in <i>The Forest Again</i>. I'm thinking, Bellatrix MUST have gone for Tonks---it was her New Year's Resolution to kill her blood-traitor freak of a niece---so no doubt it could've been Lupin vs. Dolohov, Tonks shows up and Bellatrix goes for her.

Tonks, initially on the defensive, curses are flying everywhere----"<i>She wants me quite as much as she wants Harry, Remus, she tried very hard to kill me.</i>"---Bellatrix. What is Bellatrix known for famously committed on the Longbottoms? The Cruciatus Curse. Curses still flying everywhere, Tonks and Lupin worried out of their heads about each other's safety---Bellatrix catches Tonks off guard (Auror as she may be, she's just had a baby and she hasn't been on active Auror duty in a whole nine months), sends a Cruciatus Curse at her. With Tonks down and at Bellatrix's mercy, Lupin is distracted and Dolohov makes his move.

Dolohov, not a man of a honorable wizard's duel, takes advantage of Lupin's distraction, and throws an Avada Kedavra curse at him.

Bam. Lupin's dead. Tonks was, not aware of what has happened, still in excruciating pain. Bellatrix, noticing the work that Dolohov has done, releases Tonks from the curse and taunts her, shoving her over the dead body of her husband. Still shaken by the cruciatus curse, is unable to think straight as the vision of Lupin, dead, comes into her head and it's too late when Bellatrix sends a killing curse at her.

[sobs]

WHY DID I HAVE TO THEORIZE?!
Now I'm MORE DEPRESSED. ARGH, I HATE THIS. JKR---I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.

Is it me, or did Snape's death seem so... pathetic----though it does fit the theme of the anti-hero, it was just tragic and rather sad---pitiful, almost---which could make sense since after seeing Snape's memories---it fits with the entire theme of his life, it's so pitiful.

I also want to say that the whole mass of Snape/Lily fans are suffocating because it's just .... so sudden and I can't imagine Lily ever have reciprocated Snape's feelings in that sense. That's just me, though. [shrug] If JKR said otherwise in an interview, I still don't buy it. The subtext says differently.

Fans may have started seeing the Lily/Snape since around OotP, but they hadn't started becoming active since this recent and last book, the fact that---there's no evidence in the books to say that they were together at any point in time or that they shared the same feelings, the sudden volunteer army is just overwhelming.

I can appreciate and love Snape for being capable of emotion such as love, jealousy, regret---but I love him more for not being able to receive such emotions.
