I didn't mean to post at the same time and do you think that's really any way to be speaking to your Auntie? shame on you! lol couples like that are the best! Well, I don't expect you to know what scene I was talking about... I didn't even really know what scene I was talking about! well, the best of luck to you. "aye, avast" is a cute/stupid scene! But he's so young and naive then... I'm really happy Jack helped him out a little and got him out of that stage! even though it was sort of cute I would've hated for him to never grow or mature. I got Elizabeth's speech too. I've pretty much searched all over on youtube to find anything that might tide me over 'til the dvd. I don't own any of the Shrek movies so right there that tells you I don't like them that much... maybe you have to have the right sense of humor? *shrug* Yeah, I feel so bad for him at the start of Elizabethtown... but by the end I'm just ready to see him and Claire get together! They were so perfect, weren't they? I mean sure they weren't like Willabeth or Aragorn/Arwen but they were still a sweet couple. Ah, you're not naughty... the last two times or so my brother sort of... loaned me the money. hey, if they're willing to loan or pay why not let them? you're welcome! I was just listing out the girl names that I like...
It's okay. As long as the mods don't catch me, no harm done. Good point...oops!
Well, now, that doesn't work very well, does it?
You said that, and my brain automatically called up "Miss Swann - the very best of luck to you both." I think I need help.
Yeah, there's a brilliant description of him from Jack's POV in the CotBP movie novelization, actually: "From [Jack's] vantage point, the boy did not seem a threat. He was of slim build, and while his hands appeared strong - most likely from working with hot metal and other tools of the blacksmith trade - his eyes were innocent. Jack very much doubted the boy had ever been in a real fight." That was our Mr. Turner, all right!
Aye, I hear you! I've gotten two new near-favorite scenes just by watching them on YouTube. (The James/Elizabeth bit - and his death - and the Davy/Calypso jail scene)
I think you might have to be easily amused. Which usually I am. So by all logic I should like them, but I don't. *shrugs* Maybe you have to like crude humor or something...I'm more of a satire fan, like The Princess Bride.
Indeed! I liked how it ended too, with them together again.
True. She did offer, after all.
It's sort of tricky, because there's way more male characters in the movies than female... Ah well.
I ran out to Borders and bought the three-in-one movie novelization today - because I could! Some stuff that wasn't in the movies is in there, and some stuff from the movies is left out, so it's nice to see it this way. The descriptions are brilliant! Especially this one, of the AWE wedding kiss: "Then, as all around them, the fight continued, [Will] leaned down and kissed her. It was a kiss full of passion, full of the promises to come, and full of apologies for things that could never be undone."
 Spiffy, huh?

Oh, cool! I didn't know they were going to do a novelization! I would read it -- except, what's the reading level? I always think of movie novelizations as being on a relatively low reading level.
That so romantic!

I've got over wanting *really* romantic scenes in POTC. I think the last one that normal people would actually find romantic is probably "I love you" and the kiss in CotBP. Everything else is a tad unconventional.
The AWE novel says "think like the whelp" and I think it's funnier that way. We won't actually know until the DVD (subtitles) but I've always thought of it as "whelp."
I guess so, but with a bunch of stupid guy humor added in... *rolls eyes* Ah well, to each their own.
Erm...it doesn't list a reading level...the first two took me maybe 3 hours? And that was stopping every few minutes to underline something in it. Big typing, but if you're bored or something it's not a bad way to pass the time. (They cut out an awful lot of Pintel and Ragetti jokes in AWE too... )
Isn't it?! The CotBP kiss gets similar, though not quite so fluffy, treatment. Except in DMC it just says she throws her arms around his neck.

FaeEowynTonks, You are more than welcome. Ooh those names are very pretty.
Anie Surion, Four kids (five counting William James) for Willabeth? Actualy I Really like that idea/ I could see them running five kids....so sweet. Oh, you choose wonderful names as well! Hmmm if they were to have four other kids and I got the chance to name them they would probabley end up being named...Elizabeth Destiny or Elizabeth Fate (called Beth if you do not mind me borrowing your idea that is...after Elizabeth's mother and Destiny after the touch of destiny line or fate because Willabeth is/was fate), Vianna Pearl (Pearl after the Black Pearl), Tamara Rosanna, and Jack Gibon (after Jack and Gibbs). So it would be William Turner, Beth Turner, Pearl Turner, Tamara Turner, and Jack Turner.
Very true much stranger things have indeed happened in Potc than Will and Jack getting along.
True, true. We must support the exceptions to the rule. Yes, she was a very popular woman. Perhaps it was because she was one of the very few women that seemed to be present? There was Tia, Anna Maria, Giselle, Scarlet, and Elizabeth....the boys were near countless (Jack, Will, Norrington, Barbossa, Beckett, Davy, etc etc etc). lol
Taurquende, I havve been wondering the exact same thing. However I have heard him say in interviews before that he wishes to be like Johnny (and Johnny did not settle down and find a girl until he was in his 30s, right?), so maybe there is time yet. Yes, I am sure that he just wants to make sure to find the right girl.
PD, You are welcome. I am not just being nice...I am being honest. I really liked it.
Ah very good point. There are many stars in PotC (not just Jack) so he should not be the only one on the cover. (nods) Hmm yes Becket and Norrington and Davy being on the cover would be nice (Norrington and Becket would be especialy nice since they have yet to be on a PotC cover where as Davy was on Dead Man's Chest's dvd cover).
You are welcome.
Elven Archer and Anie Surion, Thank you both greatly for posting those links. The dvd cover looks awesome. I am glad that we have some conformation of sorts that that will be the dvd cover. I think that it shall make a fine dvd cover. I can not wait for AWE to come to dvd!

I swear someone could ask me something and I could answer and when the movie (or whatever) was over I would have no idea what the person asked me. I'm really good at tuning people out sometimes. we shall! .... although I do think we'd see the doctor running the other way when we walked in... strange, isn't it? that's cool... you know how I love things to be in character... huzzah for the writers of the novels who take enough time to get things (and our characters) right! I don't think there is any escape! My friends we have lost a dear friend this day... poor Anie has been *sniff* (..."press-ganged into Davy Jones' crew" (I don't think it's right but it's close enough ) claimed by the seas of endless quotes... Aaanyway, yeah, I think Will and Lizzie would make marvelous parents! It would be so sweet to see them have kids and raise them (with Uncle Jack and Uncle Barbossa's help, of course ). that's good to hear! The shorter you can make that scene the better! Ok... no, I don't mind.... Oh, I can't wait to see that scene again now! "think like the whelp, think like the whelp"... sounds just like Jack! thanks for clearing things up (and thanks again to EA!)... well, that's the pic I found before so I guess now it's official... I don't mind it actually. at least some of the cast and not only Jack is on it. Taurquende wrote: Eek! Don't worry then! I won't touch him. thank you! you're a life saver! Taurquende wrote: Calloniel (PD) wrote: "you're a cruel man Jack Sparrow." .... sorry, that popped into my mind... I'm not trying to replace Anie's quoting abilities (goodness knows I couldn't! ).... that just came to me. well, I like the one you have now too...
I know! I always have too! *high fives* so sometimes it really throws me off when they change their "faces". it even throws me off sometimes when I change mine (which is often enough, I'll admit )
Haha, I must be killing you by now then. Sorry... *high five back* Oh yes... occasionally I starting reading a post and I get halfway through before I realize "Hey, this sounds familiar! Oh, right..." It only happens occasionally though. well, you just threw me off again, Taur! No, no, I'm enjoying seeing what you'll "look" like each day. changing is a lot of fun, is it not? that's happened to me on a few occasions too.... Drew's Destiny wrote: PD, You are welcome. (nods) Hmm yes Becket and Norrington and Davy being on the cover would be nice (Norrington and Becket would be especialy nice since they have yet to be on a PotC cover where as Davy was on Dead Man's Chest's dvd cover). You are welcome. I can not wait for AWE to come to dvd!
thanks, again! you're an awesome friend! I'm happy you really liked it!
Right! At World's End was about many other people not just Jack.... they did it to us for the soundtrack (put only Jack on it) they should at least let the dvd have the rest of the cast (although sadly not all of it ) on it.
I know! Beckett especially (sorry, Norrie but Becky is bigger than you in AWE ) should've gotten something! I guess his actor's just not big enough in America? if I had been making the cover I would've put Jack, Liz, Will, Norrie, Becky and Barbossa on it (and maybe Davy Jones)... but that's just me... *sigh*
I can't wait either! Only 96 more days!

Yes, I am sure that he just wants to make sure to find the right girl. Yeah, I think so. I'd imagine it must actually be kind of hard to find a girl interested in you, not your looks or your fame or your money. Poor Orli! Calloniel (PD) wrote: Ah, well... You have no idea how much I change it when you're offline! Last night I changed it about five times, along with my signature. I like this one a lot, although...
Huzzah! I get to see AWE again tomorrow!

It's as romantic as something can be in a film about pirates. They're not the cleanest people, either physically or action-wise. Good point. There was Tia, Anna Maria, Giselle, Scarlet, and Elizabeth....the boys were near countless (Jack, Will, Norrington, Barbossa, Beckett, Davy, etc etc etc). lol Oh, I forgot the name Destiny! Good one, putting it after Elizabeth. That way it kind of pulls it all together, eh? After all, Elizabeth was in a way Will's destiny. I like those other names too. *cough*Calypso*cough* I see what you mean - and Anamaria was only in the first movie. (I wish they'd put her in the others too, she was cool! ) What with Lizzie being really the only pretty female in all the males, it's not too surprising. Calloniel (PD) wrote: Ah, well... Just a guess, mostly. You don't act like it.
(I'm so proud of her, she's following in my footsteps! jk!)
Wow, really? I'm not *quite* that bad...I just tend to think random thoughts sometimes.
Aye! But, ah well, who needs him if he's afraid of us?
Yes, I know just what you mean. *salutes novel writers*
But...but...it's not Davy's crew anymore, it's Will's crew! So you can just leave me here, and don't worry, I'm quite happy. (don't tell Lizzie )
Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want to be in their way if one of the kids was in danger - mother bears and all that. Uncle Jack and Uncle Hector, you mean! ( and I'm sure it would've been Uncle James too...
Doesn't it? "[He's] a hard man to predict"...and yet not really, we have him figured out.
You're welcome. Yes, look on the bright side, at least some of the others are on there. (though I'll probably tape Norrie's pic on the front of my copy just so he'll have some kind of memorial)

Not quite. Well, you can't expect men on a mold-ridden ship at sea for months at a time to care much about their personal hygiene. <insert Elizabeth's DMC quote>
Right, and some good actors.
I know!
"Ragetti: Now that we're not immortal anymore we've got to take care of our immortal selves!
Pintel: You know you can't read.
Ragetti: It's the Bible, you get credit for trying!"

*cough* Um, the fact I can probably means you should haul me away.
Jack: We're very much alike, you and I, I and you. Us.
Elizabeth: Except for a sense of honor and decency and a moral center. And personal hygiene.
Jack: Trifles!
(That one? )
Though I will never hear Eddie Murphy's voice as anything but Mushu, no matter how many movies he's in.
Like that one! Actually there's one in the book, right after they land in Davy Jones' Locker, that I love and I wish was actually in the movie. It goes like this:
(Ragetti is grinning madly)
Pintel: What's got into you?
Ragetti: I thought it was fun.
Pintel: It wasn't fun! ...Well, maybe a little, the tilting-over part...
Ragetti: And the big splash at the end!
I love those guys. Ragetti's ending line gets me every time.

Wow, I really need to come back here, and interject myself as someone who isnt going to just talk about Will and Elizabeth....
And still, Will has two left feet. Poor guy, must be terrible for him to dance...
Not liking the 2 Disc Limited Edition art, but I like the Single Disc Art. Well, this is quite a dilema. Well, going to get the 2 Disc Edition, even if I dont like the art...
The Extras sound great though, very excited.
Anyways, I'll be popping in and out once and a while, just to keep an eye on any new developments.

True, we need you Darky! Although to our credit we've moved on to Pintel and Ragetti lately.
I did notice that when I saw it again today! I think I found the answer though: Elizabeth's left foot was small enough to fit into Will's right boot pretty easily. And I don't think she really cared which boot she was putting on which foot since she wasn't planning to keep it on for long.
I agree, I like the single disc better, but that's not going to keep me from buying the special edition.

True. Though, I still see "Matthew Broderick" and think "Simba!" so there you go.
 I love "Boat!"! Ragetti rocks!
