 Glad it was you, not me. :P

Aye! I second that! :D

Hey! I remember that show! :D Wow, I haven't thought of that in ages! :P I remember we used to watch parts in class in first grade. :teehee:

Gee, thanks. :annoyed2: :teehee: It was an odd experience. :P

Huzzah for Orlando! :bounce: ;)

Lucky you!!! We never got to watch TV in school! I had to settle for watching it at home every day... :P I had a Wishbone plushie too, he was one of my favorites. :D

Most welcome. :teehee:

Huzzah indeed! :bounce:

lol Oh, really? I didn't even know Wishbone did A Tale of Two Cities! (it's been too long since I watched that tv show... it was a good one though :P) I guess mine was just a gut instinct because that's how those things go in books and movies... there's one guy who loves the girl and he's kind of a undesirable guy (or whatever) but in the end he does something incredible for the girl he knows he'll never get and that makes you fall in love with him. :P

Awww, now you're making me jealous! You get to download things fast on YouTube... I have to wait FOREVER with dial-up! :annoyed2: so you'll just have to enjoy them for me... (although the scary thing is (I realized this today) I'm forgetting a lot of the lines and the other details in AWE! *runs around in a desperate frenzy* I feel like I'm loosing my mind or something because I can't remember some of these key quotes from AWE!!!! Oh dear! this is perfectly dreadful! :()

lol thanks! it's amazing how things help when you just rephrase them. :P

hey, I don't mind if you go along with it. ;) (and just between me and you sometimes I'm too lazy to think of my own explanations too... that's why I like it when you get to the questions first in the A&A club ;) then I can just say 'yeah, she just said it perfectly. I agree with her!' (and not to mention normally you do say it all perfectly ;))

Yeah, they did, and I actually used the Wishbone TOTC book when I was doing my essay, because it was easier to read. :P Hm, that's a good point. Like in POTC, and Spider-Man 3 (so I've heard...).

Aww, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, Merry! (Oh dear! I can remedy that, just tell me what you can't remember. :teehee: No, seriously, if you want me to help you remember stuff I can. :))

"Indeed". :D

 I can't blame you. I like explaining or discussing things I actually care about...too bad we're not reading LOTR in my English class, it'd be a breeze! ;)

but you did actually read the real book, aye? ;) not that I care either way but I'm sure you did.... however for writing and the notes and all that that you may have to take for the essay I can see where a smaller sized version of TOTC would be a LOT easier. :P thank you! :-D really? Who is it in Spider-Man? the guy who you sort of hate at the beginning, who looses the girl of his dreams, and yet still redeems himself in the end?

no, that's ok, Pip.... I'll live. :P (wow! you can? huzzay! :bounce: Thank you! well, I'm forgetting the whole "up is down" scene (like the dialog ect), the final battle, the Brethren Court, and the Singapore scenes. :( and those are the main ones I'm starting to forget. :teehee:)

Aye, I know! Actually for school my mom was thinking of having me do LotR for some of my lit but she decided against it because she didn't want to turn a book I love into something I dread doing. :P *shrugs* now that I think about it, though it may have been fairly fun/easy. :teehee:

Actually, I did Narnia two years ago and it was really... unpleasant. My teacher had us read all seven in class with an audio tape! I had already read them all three times before so it was so boring! Then there was an enormous project that felt really pointless... anyway, since then I've never wanted to have to study my favorite books.

isn't that funny? and today people say it all the time like it's nothing... (actually I think I kind of like how people did things back then. It was all more proper and elegent. ) (lol you know I have never watched I Love Lucy.... strange, isn't it?)

lol what's wrong with that?

thank you!

I know! And I couldn't agree more! :D (Really? I would definitely recommend it. It's very cute and funny without being inappropriate like most comedies nowadays. ;))

I think you all are corrupting me or something. :teehee: Are you? *shifty eyes*

You're quite welcome! ;)

What do you think Will III grew up to be? :erm: I was wondering whether he'd be a pirate or if he found a "respectable" (;)) job like blacksmithing. Or maybe he ended up a merchant sailor of some sorts...

hm, Arthur was one of our favorites as little kids. :hammer: ooo, I vaguely remember the Magic School Bus... but I remember liking it  oh, and Barney.... *shudders* I don't remember it but I guess I use to LOVE that show when I was really little. :duh: so embarrassing! thank you! :-D (ok, well I have seen bits and pieces of different episodes on TVLand when I use to watch TVLand more often... and I had a friend who watched it with her family and they really liked it too. Oh, yes I imagine... most comedies today are *shudder*)

no, not that I know of.... we aren't trying to corrupt you... or are we? ;) :teehee:

hmmm, I think Will III would've grown up to be something like his father... not really a pirate but more respectable... I could see him as a sailor or something with two parents like his and he was probably free spirited like them so the ocean would've been perfect. And that's about all I can come up with... I'm not really sure what I think he would've grown up to be. Hmmmm, good question though (we needed something to bring us back to the PotC/AWE subject, aye? ;))

Don't be embarrased! After all, it's a really likable show for little kids! :) I wonder, do they even run it anymore? :erm:

You're welcome! :D (I know, that's why I love old movies and stuff. :P I love how there were standards back then, and how put together everyone looks! Men are wearing suits, women dresses... it's so refined.)

Hm, just in case, I think I'll watch my back from now on... :yeahright: :teehee:

Yeah, I definitely can't see him just growing up to be a regular person. ;) Though it's really hard to tell! After all, he only got 20 seconds of film time. :P I wish we had seen more of him... *sigh* ... Oh well. (Yeah, I know. :P I was actually about to not ask it before I realized I was about to make a post with no PotC-related content at all.)

(amen to that! I'll be looking forward to it! :))

I know... now I sorta wish I could do it (sure beat what I AM doing for lit ;)) but oh well...

ol lazy bones. ;) just kidding! what I meant to say was 'Thank you'! I wasn't too sure how well I put that... anyway, thanks!

now to think of something else to chat about... it seems like this thread is really dieing... or maybe it's just that everyone on the board has become busier and I'm still dull and same-old-same-old. :P :hammer:

I love the story, I just...don't enjoy the way Dickens writes. Sorry. Funny, isn't it? I can appreciate Tolkien and not Dickens. I've never been to Answers.com, I've always used Google and Wikipedia. Maybe I'll go look on there sometime, thanks! :) (I heard nothing... :teehee:) Glad you're happy about that! I wasn't fond of Harry in Spidey 1 & 2, because MJ is one of my favorites, but I'll probably end up doing the same thing with him that I did with Norrie (deciding he was absolutely amazing, I mean).

(Me too! It'll give me a chance to remember...in the meantime, I know there's dozens of quotes on AWE's IMDb page.)

Well, of course, because LOTR is amazing like that and beats any boring book they make you read in school! :teehee: What are you studying that's so horrible?

You're welcome!

Um, it might be because school started up again so not a lot of people can come on as much...myself sometimes included. Hopefully there'll be more to talk about when the DVD comes out.

I know! I miss it... *sigh* :D And you know, you didn't really have a social life to keep up with either, so you really had a lot of free time! (Not that I have a social life anyway. :P ... at least, off the internet. ;))

I had read them earlier that year. :) And I like rereading them, but the audio book read incrediably slow and the voices where all different from the ones I'd imagined, so it was a really grueling process. :( On the plus side, we did practically nothing in English for six weeks. :P :D

Okay, thank you! :D

Yeah, like Anie said people are at school and stuff now and it's also the height of sports seasons and such so people who are involved in things like that are probably even busier. :( But I agree with Anie. After the DVD comes out they'll be special features and new questions to talk about. :D

lol well, we've discussed that before... and I do understand. Dickens' writing is harder to read than some. but worth it, aye? :) it is a little strange but oh well. ;) Oh, really? You should so go there sometime! I do Google a lot too... but recently I have been using Answers.com more.... it's more compact and and easier than Google. :teehee: (lol thanks ;)) Oh, Harry and MJ are my two faves! I actually ALMOST bought a Spidey 3 calendar today but instead I bought a AWE one for my brother. :eyeroll: oh, well.... I guess the Spidey one mostly impressed me because it had ALL the characters in it. Most of the time when you see Spidey things it's just Spider-man (kinda like a lot of the things for PotC are just Jack).... gee, I don't want to fall in love with another trilogy but the Spider-Man movies are pretty good. :P
anyway, back to Pirates...

(okie dokie... well, huzzah! the pms are back! Yippie! :bounce: :-D Huzzay! .....now to catch up on all the back-up.... ;))

well, right now it's not so bad... it's the Narrative of the run-away slave Frederick Douglass... but the last one was the Autobiography of Ben Franklin... :yuck: talk about babbling on and on and on! lol I found myself reading two or three pages and then realizing I wasn't actually reading anything but instead I was thinking about PotC or whatever! it was really boring! (not at first but as he got further into his life it got worse)

I'm sure you and Taur are right... it's just so sad. :( (also I guess I have no life because I'm on here enough to miss everyone else and to notice how empty things are :dunce: also I really don't like any sports so it's not like that takes up my time :P)

Oooo, I can't belive my good luck! :bounce: today my mom and I were at Circuit City (an electronics store) and I was looking at the dvds when something caught the corner of my eye. It was Norrie!!!! :-D So immediately I was drawn to it. It was the Tortuga scene from DMC playing on one of their big, flat screen, hi-def tvs. and it was a blu-ray disc too! Man, I had no idea those things were soooo crystal clear! :swoon: On the big hi-def and everything it was absolutely stunning! I wanted to stay and watch the whole thing on that awesome tv but we had to leave... :'( anyway, wow, the blu-ray discs are amazing! (I always wondered what the difference was between a blu-ray and a dvd :P)

oh, also at Wal-Mart I found out they DO make a PotC trivia dvd game! :-D it's a PotC Scene it? game..... and the cover is really cool! It has Jack, Will, Lizzie, AND Barbossa on it! but the 37 dollar part of it put a damper on my spirit... oh well... it can go on my wish list. :P

anyway, to talk about something WORTH your guys' time... not just me getting excited about my pitiful new discoveries... :hammer:

:hammer:

Yeah, I guess it is worth it...some parts I enjoyed anyway. Like the chapters that were titled "Knitting" and then one a couple chapters later - "Still Knitting"? I found that funny. :teehee: Oh, is it? I'll have to check it out then, thanks! :) Well, yeah, I can't blame you...as awesome as Spider-Man is I think POTC pwns it. :P I stood in Walmart looking at the Spidey 3 calendar going "hmm..." but then I decided I really didn't NEED two calendars... ;) (I found a POTC one, finally, the last one too! :bounce:) Believe me, I have the same problem with trilogies... :duh: :D

(Huzzay!!! :D)

I see...so you were coast-reading through Ben's autobiography? I've done that before, though not with that particular book. :P I'm sorry it was so boring!

No, don't say that, because if YOU have no life then what do I have? :teehee: Anyway, don't worry, we won't let this thread die, right?

Oh yeah, I did the same thing in Fry's about 4 months ago! :D (Although I came in during the credits so I stood there watching those, and then picked up the remote and started it again! I got to Cannibal Island before my dad told me we had to go... :P) Don't you love how *pretty* everything is in those DVD players? :P

Ooh, a POTC Scene It? Me likes...we wants it, precious... :teehee: Thanks for mentioning it! Christmas is coming up, after all... ;) I was always so mad that Harry Potter and Nickelodeon and everything else on the planet got Scene It? games but LOTR and POTC didn't, so I'm very happy. :D

(Not pitiful, Merry!)

aye! Glad you see it that way! I had almost forgotten about those chapters! see, there were enjoyable/funny things in it! It's always worthwhile to read a good classic book. :-D you're welcome! Aye, that is the truth! Spidey is a great flick but Pirates and LotR will forever be my very first movie "loves". :P Pirates has everything you want in a good movie. Awesome characters, great actors, adventure, romance, comedy, great villains, exotic locations, fantasy ect.... how can you NOT like it? ;) aww, you should've gotten the Spidey-3 one. who cares if you have two? :teehee: if I could get my hands on that poster-sized LotR one I'd have it before you could say "gollum". :teehee: (huzzah, I'm so happy to hear that! :bounce:) but I don't wanna have that problem with trilogies! *throws fit* :( ;) :teehee: oh, well at least I know I'll never get caught up in the Shrek one... even if they are gonna make more than three.

well, I guess you might say that... an unintentional coast-reading. :P ah, I got through it and I'm still living at least... :)

YOU have a life! Nah, I'm not about ready to let this Taur, Anie, PD and anyone else who wants to join PotC talkathon die. :teehee:

awesome! *high fives* lol that's great! The tv I watched didn't have a remote so I just had to sit through it (if it had I probably would've fast forwarded it to the Isla Cruses fight scene or something to do with Beckett. ;)) but not for long before my mom said we couldn't watch the whole thing so we should go. :P Oh, yes I do! It's mesmerizingly pretty!

Yes, there is! and no problem! (that's what I figured too... and since my Christmas list is pretty bare so far I figured I could add that) I was mad about that too... but now, huzzah, they finally came to their senses and made one! :bounce:

(aww, thanks!)

btw, is anyone gonna bump up the You Know You're Passionate for Pirates When... thread? :(

 I agree with you, even though Dickens is my mortal enemy. :P Well, truthfully, all 3 trilogies (following me? LOTR, POTC, and Spidey) have those elements, don't they? I know what you mean though. Yeah, I would've gotten the Spidey calendar too but I barely convinced my mom to get me the POTC one, and even that's a Christmas present. :erm: Maybe I'll go back once I have money... (What, you don't think the Shrek movies are absolutely riveting?!)

Aye! You're still alive, that's all that matters. :P (Which makes me think of "We'll never survive!" "Nonsense, you're just saying that because no one ever has." Do you know what movie that's from?)

Do I? I'm not sure...I think I sold it, along with my marbles, on Ebay... :teehee: Aye aye, I agree!

*high fives back* Yeah, I got lucky. Otherwise I would've just wandered around, very bored, with no Will eye candy. :P At least you walked in during the beginning, and not the end, right? :) I was standing there going "OOH, shiny!!!" :D

(You're welcome. :))

I did, sorry I let that go...

*wanders in* ...eh, going slightly off-topic are we? :teehee:

Does anyone have a large high quality/resolution image of the At World's End DVD cover?

And do we know what special features will appear on the 2-Disc DVD?

^ *cough* Yes, I think so too. It's like a big ol' private party in here. :P

Ooh, I've not even looked to see the DVD!

*goes to look*

Wow, it's a nice cover. There's a pretty good medium sized image on Amazon but I'm guessing you've probably looked there. ;)

Hmm... I can't find any features for it yet though.

Yeah I already checked Amazon, but thanx anyways :)

I really love the image at the bottom of the cover, where the two ships clash right at world's end - literally lol

I hope Mr. Depp is doing commentary for this DVD like he did for CotBP!
