Eruraina makes her way into the ballroom where she picks up a silver flute with gold inscriptions of rose vines. She sits on a stool and lifts the flute to her lips and starts off with a quick B scale to warm up. Then, she starts playing her favorite Yule time song "Carol of the Bells".

Murtagh comes in a few minutes later, holding a glass of red wine, and listens intently as his fiance starts playing beautifully...

TT wandered in and joins Murtagh listening to Eruraina's beatiful playing.
"Ahhhh... I just love yule tide songs", she whispered, not wanting to disturb the song.

Soon Rain finnished her song and looked up to see it wasn't juse Murtagh there, and blushed.
"Mae Govannen, theThain. Hm, what's your favorite Yule tide song? I might know it. I know alot of Yule tide songs," she said. "And if I don't know it on flute, I might know it on fiddle. I can play both instruments very well."

Elenya came into the ballroom in time to hear the end of "Carol of the Bells".
"That was great- I love that song!" She told Rain as the song ended.

"Sorry for startling you... is it Rain?", she smiled and extended her hand warmly. "Just call me TT. Oh, and I don't know what my favorite song is... I like them all!". TT thought for a minute. "No, I can't think of one I like above the rest." She laughed. "You play the fiddle as well? I can play that too! Not very well, though..." She blushed.

Rain nodded, and shook TT's hand.
"Yes, it's Rain, or, at least that's what they call me. I've played fiddle for five month, but flute for five years. What about you, Elenya? Do you have a favorite Yule tide song? 'Carol of the Bells' is my favorite."

"Oh? Is there as reason for that? Wow... that's a while. I've played the fiddle for 5 years now as well. "

"Hey, what's all the chatter about in here? I thought this was a place for music and dancing," Nurr joked as she wandered into the ballroom. "Well, if no one else has a favorite song, how about O Holy Night? Tis such a beautiful song, and great for dancing." She grinned at the others.

"Well, for the name, my name is Eruraina, so from there you can see where they get Rain. But, there's also Eru, Erura, and Raina," she said, and nodded, then turned to Nur. "O Holy Night is a beautiful song. I shall play it for you."

Rain lifted the flute to her lips, and paused for a moment, remembering the notes, then started playing...

Silently moving through the grand double doors, Zandaïn, followed the thread of the flute as `O Holy Night´ filled the ballroom..
`So whistful´ she thought, `almost haunting..´
Stepping closer, and being aware of the swooshing of her ballgown, she tried to avoid making too much noise.
Nodding to Aina, Nurr, TT and others gathered to listen, she realised that it was Eru, playing!
Settling herself on the edge of the couch, her dress flowing out around her
..Zandaïn, closed her eyes to listen..swaying just a bit..

Garbed as Princess Leia, a tall figure glided into the room, followed by a man dressed to the T as Han Solo, complete with a hip blaster.
"Morning all!" 'Leia' called to the group. "Don't you all just love masquerades? I think they are the most fun ever!" Taking Han's hand, she started whirling around the floor to the music.

Eruraina smiled slightly, well, as well as she could while playing the flute. She soon finnishe 'O Holy Night' as well. Lowering her flute, she nodded.
"maquerades are very fun. Though, this would be my first masquerade, or altogether first Yule ball," she said, before lifting the flute to her lips again and starting a new song.

This time it was 'Deck the Halls'.

"Really?" Nurr said to Thandwen. "I came last year. T'was so much fun! I think this year will be even better, with all the new people we have." Humming along to Deck the Halls, Nurr and Mat spun around the room.

"Well, where is everyone?" Nurr wondered as she walked into the deserted ballroom. "I didn't think the weather was bad enough to keep people away."

"Perhaps they all stayed up late and are sleeping," Mat suggested with a yawn. "Not everyone has someone to drag them out of bed in the mornings. Others have that misfortune." He gave her a sidelong glance.

"Oh, hush," Nurr said with a smile. "Why anyone would need to laze the day away in bed is beyond me. If only there was some music for dancing right now." As if the room could hear and was waiting for that, the lights dimmed and a soft orchestral piece began to play. Staring in wonderment at the transformed ballroom, Nurr grabbed Mat's hand.
"Well, let's not waste it!"

They moved onto the floor and began to sway to the music. Nurr was suddenly reminded of Beauty and the Beast, and half expected someone to sing.
